The dataset is converted to file geodatabase (FGDB) format using tools in ArcGIS. The geometry is checked, and if needed repaired.
After processing, the dataset is checked for drawing display and number of records and file sizes compared with source materials.
Horizontal positional accuracy is dependent on geographic area. In most areas, accuracy is between 5 and 25 meters (16 and 82 feet). In some areas, accuracy is off by up to several tens of meters (100 feet or more). In the poorest areas, accuracy is off by up to 100 meters (328 feet).

The following steps were performed by Esri: Extracted the dataset from StreetMap Premium for ArcGIS North America TomTom. Removed all Canada and Mexico records. Added the field STATE and coded it by overlaying on Data and Maps 2017 U.S. States. Added the field POPULATION (alias POP2017). Added the field SQMI and calculated its values. Added and calculated the field POP_SQMI (alias POP17_SQMI). Put "-99" values into all number type fields (except SQMI) for records where there were no data.
